The boundary-layer flow on a vertical circular pipe which is embedded in a porous media is considered. The flow is driven by the buoyancy effects, due to the cylinder being at a higher temperature than the surrounding media, and a horizontal flow. This results in a three-dimensional boundary-layer being formed on the pipe and the resulting equations were solved using a finite-difference technique. Also asymptotic solutions which are valid at small and large distances along the pipe are given. Expressions are presented for the variation of the Nusselt number as a function of angular and axial distance along the pipe and the leading edge displacement effect is given.
