Galois cohomology of elliptic curves (Q5894080)

This is the second edition of a popular short book on elliptic curves, Selmer groups and their calculation. We refer to the review of the first edition [2000; Zbl 0973.11059]. As the authors point out themselves, the second edition is very close in content to the first. We quickly describe what has changed. Section 2.15 now presents an important result of Kato which says that the group of points of an elliptic curve over fields of the type \(F(\mu_{p^\infty})\) is finitely generated, under suitable (strong) assumptions. At the end of Chapter 5, there is some new computational information about the L-series of certain elliptic curves of conductor 11. There are also a few additional references. The book will certainly continue to attract readers.
