The author presents the main contributions of geometers from Kaliningrad to the theory of manifolds of multidimensional quadrics and conics. The investigations in question are characterized by the application of G. F. Laptev's version of Cartan's method of exterior forms to the description of families of submanifolds, e.g., quadrics of conics.
