The behavior of \(\|f^n\|\) is investigated, where \(f(t)= \sum_{k\in\mathbb{Z}} a_ke^{ikt}\) and \(\|f\|:= \sum|a_k|<\infty\). The following Theorem 5 is typical. If \(f\) is twice continuously differentiable, \(|f(0)|= 1\), \(|f(t)|< 1\) for \(0<|t|\leq \pi\), \((d^2/dt^2)|f(t)|\neq 0\) at \(t= 0\), \(f\) is infinitely differentiable in a neighborhood of zero, and \(i^jf^{(j)}(0)\) is real for \(j= 1,2,\dots, 2h+2\), then \[ \|f^n\|= 1+ o(n^{-h})\quad\text{as }n\to\infty. \] Analogous finite asymptotic expansions are obtained when \(f\) is assumed to be differentiable only finitely many times.
