Displacement structures and fast inversion formulas for confluent polynomial Vandermonde-like matrices (Q5916121)

The paper deals with the displacement structure theory of polynomial Vandermonde-like matrices in the case of multiple interpolation nodes. The authors introduce three kinds of displacement structure equations for confluent polynomial Vandermonde matrices with two different general recurrence and they show that these three displacement operators define the same class, the class of confluent polynomial Vandermonde-like matrices. On the other hand, the authors give two kinds of fast inversion formulas for confluent polynomial Vandermonde-like matrices, by using displacement structure matrix method, which include confluent Vandermonde-like and Chebyshev-Vandermonde-like matrices as special cases. Finally, the authors point out a relationship between confluent polynomial Vandermonde-like matrices and confluent Cauchy-like matrices.
