In the third chapter of this monograph, the authors present the most basic geometries properties of solutions of the Monge-Ampère equation. In this chapter, the authors give the proof of Alexandrov's maximum principle, John's lemma, volume estimates for sections, Caffarelli's localisation theorem, size of sections, Caffarelli \(C^{1,\alpha}\) regularity for strictly convex functions, the engulfing property of sections and the inclusion and exclusion property of sections.
