A unified approach to Poisson reduction. (Q5928846)

In this paper, the author gives an interpretation of Poisson actions (of Poisson Lie groups) in terms of the so-called \({\mathcal L}{\mathcal A}\)-groupoids, a notion previously defined in the author's paper [Adv. Math. 94, 180--239 (1992; Zbl 0765.57025)]. Moreover, it is shown that \textit{J.-H. Lu}'s matched pair of Lie algebroids associated with Poisson actions [ see Duke Math. J. 86, 261--304 (1997; Zbl 0889.58036)] can be seen as induced from this \({\mathcal L}{\mathcal A}\)-groupoid. Finally, using the machinery of Lie groupoids, this construction is applied to give a reduction procedure, with the particular property that it works even when a moment map in the usual sense does not exist.
