The author considers a second-order quasilinear differential operator \(P(x,D)u=P_{\text{princ}}(x,D)u+f(x,\{D^\alpha u\}_{|\alpha|\leq 1}),\) \(x\in \mathbb{C}^{n+1},\) where the principal part \[ P_{\text{princ}}(x,D)u=\sum_{|\alpha|=2}a_\alpha(x,\{D^\alpha u\}_{|\alpha|\leq 1})D^\alpha u \] is chosen so as to have \(P_{\text{princ}}(x,D)u-P_{lin}(x,D)u=O(u^q),\) for some positive integer \(q,\) where \(P_{\text{lin}}(x,D)\) denotes the linearized part of \(P\) at \(u=0.\) The functions \(f\) and \(a_\alpha\) are holomorphic in the arguments near the origin, with \(f(x,0)=0\) for all \(x,\) and \(a_\alpha(x,y)-a_\alpha(x,0)=\sum_{|\beta|=q}a_{\alpha,\beta}(x,y)y^\beta\) for all \(x,\) where the \(a_{\alpha,\beta}\) are holomorphic near the origin. The author further requires that the hyperplane \(x_0=0\) be noncharacteristic and considers two characteristic hypersurfaces \(S_j,\) defined by \(f_j(x)=0,\) \(j=1,2,\) relative to \(P_{\text{lin}}(x,D)\), that are simple and transverse. He hence considers the problem \(P(x,D)u=v,\) where \(v\) is a holomorphic function with singular support \(S_1\cup S_2.\) In the hypothesis that \(|v(x)|\leq C|f_1(x)|^{a_1}|f_2(x)|^{a_2}\) near \(S_1\cup S_2,\) with \(a_1,a_2\geq 1/q,\) he proves that \(u\) is ramified at \(S_1\cup S_2,\) and that \(|u(x)|\leq C'|f_1(x)|^{a_1+1}|f_2(x)|^{a_2+1}.\)
