This paper is devoted to the study of a posteriori and a priori error estimates for the scalar nonlinear convection-diffusion equation. All the estimates are established in the case when the difussion parameter is smaller than the mesh size. Some numerical experiments are given, which underlines the applicability of the a posteriori error estimate.
