Fluid Stochastic Petri Nets (FSPN) and hybrid systems have similar qualities. Both are used to model complex systems with discrete and continuous components. The difference between both models is how they focus attention on the modeled system. The FSPN formalism concentrates on the evolution of the stochastic process involved, while the hybrid system formalism mainly deals with the decidability of a hybrid system with uncertainties. The paper gives an introduction to FSPN as well as to hybrid systems and compares both approaches. The main result of the paper is that FSPN and hybrid systems formalism can be converted into one another. The transformations are illustrated by some examples.
