Improved well-posedness of problems of mathematical physics related to linear constraints (Q5930620)

The author studies a wide class of problems in mathematical physics which contain a linear constraint (e.g. \(\text{div } u = 0\) for incompressible fluids). He proposes to replace the original problem by another one which is well posed in more regular spaces and which approximates in some reasonable sense the original problem. This general procedure is applied to the instationary Stokes problem. This approach might be useful in numerical solution of these problems.
