This is a polemical response by two German chemists to an article by American Ruth L. Sime, who in turn had criticized an earlier review of her Meitner biography by the current authors. The discussion goes about the respective parts of chemistry and physics in the discovery of nuclear fission in late 1938, about the impact of racist, and anti-feminist policies on priority questions. The authors, who succeed in pointing to several inaccuracies in Sime's arguments, would have strengthened their position by more clearly and plainly admitting that grave injustice has been done to Meitner which probably influenced her exclusion from the Nobel prize.
