Point spectrum of elliptic operators in fibered half-cylinders and the related completeness problem (Q5931976)

Answering a conjecture in his earlier paper [Math. Methods Appl. Sci. 22, No.8, 689-716 (1999; Zbl 0932.74008)], the author proves that a certain selfadjoint operator, associated with an elliptic operator defined on a fibered half-cylinder, has no eigenvalues. He also proves the completeness of the eigenfunctions and associated functions of a certain quadratic operator pencil obtained from this operator after a partial Fourier transform.
