Special points on products of two Shimura curves (Q5932138)

In this paper the author proves under the GRH (generalized Riemann hypothesis) a special case of André's conjecture that characterises Hodge-type subvarieties of Shimura varieties in terms of the Zariski density of special (CM) points of the subvariety. The special case considered here is that of products of two Shimura curves. The methods of this paper are similar to those of \textit{B. Edixhoven}'s paper [Compos. Math. 114, 315-328 (1998; Zbl 0928.14019)] where a similar result is proven for products of modular curves.
