This paper deals with the entrywise convergence of the constrained powers \(PA^nQ\) of matrices. The characterization of convergence have been obtained by \textit{R. E. Hartwig} and \textit{P. Šemrl} [Rocky Mat. J. Math. 29, No. 1, 177-195 (1999; Zbl 0930.65032)]. In this paper, a different proof is given by combining some elementary analysis on ideals and subspaces with a theorem from the theory of Diophantine approximation.
