Let \(H\) be a real Hilbert space and \(S\) a semi-topological semigroup, i.e. a semigroup with a Hausdorff topology such that for each \(a\in S\) the mappings \(s\mapsto a\cdot s\) and \(s\mapsto s\cdot a\) from \(S\) to \(S\) are continuous. A curve on \(S\), i.e. a function \(u: S\to H\) is called nonexpansive if \(|u(rs)- u(rt)|\leq|u(s)- u(t)|\) for all \(r,s,t\in S\). The author extends to such curves ergodic theorems previously obtained by him for almost nonexpansive sequences [J. Math. Anal. Appl. 151, No. 1, 226-235 (1990; Zbl 0723.46015)] and quasi-autonomous dissipative systems [ibid. 14, No. 2, 465-476 (1990; Zbl 0726.47032)] in a Hilbert space. His theorems extend and unify some of the results of Hirano, Mizoguchi, Takahasi, Lau, Kada, and others.
