A class of one-step time integration schemes for second-order hyperbolic differential equations (Q5936758)

A class of extended one-step time integration schemes is presented for the integration of a second-order nonlinear hyperbolic equation, subject to initial conditions and boundary conditions of Dirichlet or Neumann types. One-step time integration schemes of orders two, three and four are obtained which are unconditionally stable. The accuracy and stability of the obtained schemes is illustrated by considering numerical examples, induding the sine-Gordon equation.
