The first cohomology group of an algebra with coefficients in a bimodule (Q5936942)

Let \(k\) be a field, \(A\) a \(k\)-algebra with a separable splitting subalgebra, and \(M\) an \(A\)-\(A\)-bimodule. The authors provide formulae for the dimension of the first Hochschild cohomology group \(H^1(A,M)\), as a vector space over \(k\). In addition, the authors give some examples of applications, and show how to apply the techniques in this paper to truncated algebras, recovering results obtained by \textit{A. C. Locateli} in characteristic zero [Commun. Algebra 27, No. 2, 645-664 (1999; Zbl 0934.16011)].
