Let \(U=(U,\|\cdot\|)\) be a real Banach space and \(I\) be a closed interval in the real line. Let \(C(I,U)\) be the Banach space of all continuous functions \(x: I\to U\) provided with the norm \(\|x\|_I=\max_{t\in I}\|x(t)\|.\) The author presents a linearization property for parameter dependent operators from \(C(I,U)\) into itself which extends the notion of osculation operators. Using this notion, the author proves a new implicit function theorem. As an application, the author studies the stability of the solutions of the integro-differential equation \(x'(t)=f(\lambda,t,x(t))+\int^t_0g(t,s,x(s)) ds,\) \(x(0)=0\), with respect to a parameter \(\lambda\).
