Orbifold spectral theory (Q5940639)

Let \((M,g)\) be a closed orientable orbifold, (i.e. a \(V\) manifold). The author establishes the basic spectral theory of these singular spaces, generalizing the Sobolev embedding theorem, the Rellich theorem, and the Poincaré inequalities from the smooth setting to this more general setting. The author derives the basic properties of the spectrum of the Laplacian, including Weil's asymptotic formula and lower estimates of the spectrum.
