A \(t\)-\((v,k,\lambda)\)-design is a collection of \(k\)-subsets (blocks) of a \(v\)-set \(V\) (point-set) with the property that any \(t\)-subset of \(V\) is contained in exactly \(\lambda\) blocks. A linear code over \(Z_4\) is a subgroup \(C\) of \(Z_4^n\). The support of an element (codeword) \(x=(x_1,x_2,\dots ,x_n)\in C\) is the set of \(i\)'s for which \(x_i\neq 0\). Recently, it has been shown that the supports of some suitably selected codewords in such a code \(C\) may possibly form the blocks of a \(t\)-design with point-set \(\{1,2,\dots ,n\}\). This paper presents an overview on the developments of this interesting discovery.
