Consider the differential equation \[ \Omega(z,w)= P(z,w)/Q(z,w), \] where \(\Omega\) is a polynomial in \(w,w',\dots, w^{(n)}\) with \(z\)-meromorphic coefficients, and \(P\) and \(Q\) are polynomials in \(w\) of degree \(p\) and \(q\) with \(z\)-meromorphic coefficients. If this equation admits a finite-valued solution satisfying some condition, then, the degrees \(p\) and \(q\) can be estimated by several characteristic exponents of \(\Omega\), and by value-distribution theoretic quantities for the meromorphic coefficients.
