The Cauchy problem for Schrödinger-type evolution equations in \(L^p(\Omega)\) \((1\leq p\leq\infty\), \(\Omega\) a bounded domain of \(\mathbb{R}^n)\) \[ \begin{cases} u'(t)+iA_pu(t)=0, \quad t\in\mathbb{R},\\ u(0)=u_0\end{cases} \tag{1} \] with Dirichlet or Neumann boundary conditions is considered, where \(A_p\) is a strongly elliptic operator of order \(2m\) \((m\in\mathbb{N})\) in \(L^p (\Omega)\). By showing that \(iA_p\) is the generator of a \(C_0\) group on a certain interpolation space, some results of wellposedness for (1) are obtained. As a by-product, the operator \(iA_p\) is shown to be the generator of the \((\omega+ A_p)^{-r}\)-regularized group \((\omega> 0)\) on \(L^p(\Omega)\) for \[ r\geq{n\over 2m} \left|{1\over 2}-{1\over p} \right|,\text{ if }1<p <\infty,\quad r> {n\over 4m},\text{ if }p=1,\dots,\infty. \] Additionally two examples of such problems are given to which the above theorems can be applied.
