This paper is a continuation of a previous one by the author [J. Algebra 216, 302-327 (1999; Zbl 0990.17025)]. Firstly the extended centroid of a nondegenerate Jordan system and its corresponding central extension (extended central closure) are introduced and studied. It is shown that the following assertions hold: (i) the extended centroid of a nondegenerate triple system \(T\) is a commutative, associative, unital, von Neumann regular ring which is a field when \(T\) is prime; (ii) the extended central closure of a nondegenerate triple system \(T\) is nondegenerate, which is strongly prime when \(T\) is. The main theorem is a Jordan analogue of a well-known theorem of Martindale and asserts that the extended central closure of a strongly prime Jordan system with nonzero PI-elements has nonzero socle; furthermore it agrees with its PI ideal.
