This is the first paper of the trilogy, which consists also of [the author and \textit{G. Letzter}, Part II: Construction of the KPRV determinants. J. Algebra 241, 46-66 (2001; Zbl 1014.17011) and the author, \textit{G. Letzter} and \textit{D. Todoric}, III: Computation of the KPRV determinants. J. Algebra 241, 67-88 (2001; Zbl 1014.17012)]. The paper under review contains some auxiliary results necessary for the definition of the KPRV-determinants, given in the second part of the trilogy. Let \(\mathfrak{g}\) be a complex semisimple finite-dimensional Lie algebra, \(U(\mathfrak{g})\) its universal enveloping algebra, \(\pi'\) a subset of the set of simple roots, \(\lambda\) a \(\pi'\)-integral and \(\pi'\)-dominant weight, and \(m\) the number of all those positive roots of \(\mathfrak{g}\), which are not linear combinations of the elements from \(\pi'\). For the generalized Verma module \(M_{\pi'}(\lambda)\) the construction of \textit{N. Conze} [Bull. Soc. Math. Fr. 102, 379-415 (1974; Zbl 0298.17012)] provides an embedding \(\varphi_{\lambda}:U(\mathfrak{g})/\text{Ann} M_{\pi'}(\lambda)\hookrightarrow A_m\), where \(A_m\) is the Weyl algebra. Roughly speaking, the paper under review is dedicated to the study of \(\varphi_{\lambda}\). The embedding \(\varphi_{\lambda}\) makes \(A_m\) into a \(U(\mathfrak{g})\)-bimodule. Denote by \(A_m^{\lambda}\) the corresponding \(U(\mathfrak{g})\)-module with respect to the adjoint action. Using translation functors the author shows that in fact \(A_m^{\lambda}\) does not depend on \(\lambda\). Further, this module has a natural filtration and the first principal result of the paper (Theorem~3.6) states that the associated graded module \(B_m\) is injective in a certain twisted completion of the parabolic category \(\mathcal{O}_{\pi'}\). In the second principal result of the paper (Theorem~4.6) the author computes the multiplicities of a given simple module in each graded component of \(B_m\).
