Separating 3-cycles in plane triangulations (Q5946753)

The authors determine the maximal number of separating 3-cycles of plane triangulations with given vertex size, satisfying certain distance requirements between the separating 3-cycles. They show how triangulations with a specified number of separating 3-cycles can be constructed from other such triangulations with a smaller number of ``non-elementary'' separating 3-cycles.
