Stein hull and evolution (Q5947240)

The authors continue the investigation of the relationship between holomorphic convexity and evolution of compact subsets of \({\mathbb C}^{2}\) begun in [Atti Accad. Naz. Lincei, Cl. Sci. Fis. Mat. Nat., IX. Ser., Rend. Lincei, Mat. Appl. 7, No. 4, 235-239 (Zbl 0888.32007)] and Ann. Sc. Norm. Super. Pisa, Cl. Sci. (4) 25, 757-784 (1997; Zbl 1009.32007)]. They modify the Levi operator \({\mathcal L}(u)\) by replacing it with \(\min (0,\mathcal{L}(u))\) and furnish a description of the hull of a compact \(K\) recovered by evolution in this case. Even if this hull is not the Stein hull of \(K\) as one may have expected, its relation to this last hull is investigated.
