The author defines a new set of canonical elements, suitable for the description of Keplerian orbits with high eccentricity, which remain well-defined for collision orbits. He uses spherical angular coordinates of the unit vector pointing to the aphelion of the orbit as new coordinates, and supplies a generating function for canonical transformation from Delaunay elements to the new ones.
