The purpose of this paper is to investigate the asymptotic states of one-leg methods for multidelay differential equations and extend the corresponding results of linear multistep methods for ordinary differential equations by \textit{A. R. Humphries} [IMA J. Numer. Anal. 13, No. 2, 263-290 (1993; Zbl 0769.65041)] and \textit{A. Iserles} and \textit{A. M. Stuart} [IMA J. Numer. Anal. 12, No. 4, 487-502 (1992; Zbl 0760.65071)]. Especially, the existence of spurious steady solutions and period-2 solutions in constant or variable timestep is studied. Different concepts of regularity are introduced and conditions guaranteeing regularity are derived.
