Lorentz-Zygmund spaces \(L^{p,r}(\log L)^\alpha\), introduced by \textit{C. Bennett} and \textit{K. Rudnick} in [Diss. Math. 175, 67 p. (1980; Zbl 0456.46028)], were generalized to new spaces \(L_{p,\alpha,E}\) on \((0,1)\) by the author in [J. Anal. Math. 79, 113-157 (1999; Zbl 0987.46035)] by changing the \(L_r\) norm by a the norm of an arbitrary rearrangement invariant space \(E\) with fundamental function of the type \((t^{1/q}\log(e/t))^\alpha\). Corresponding to Marcinkiewicz spaces \(M_{q,\alpha}\), spaces of ``B-type'' \(B_{p,\alpha,E}\) were also considered. In this paper the author shows that \(B_{p,\alpha+1,E}\) is a real interpolation space for a couple \((M_{q,\beta}\),\(M_{q,\alpha})\) (under some conditions on \(\alpha\), \(\beta\) and the Boyd index \(q_E\)). The optimality of the target space \(B_{p,\alpha,E}\) in his interpolation result \(T:L_{p,\alpha,E}\to B_{p,\alpha,E}\) for quasilinear operators of joint weak type \((a,b;\infty,q)\) when \(p=\infty\) is also proved (if \(\alpha<-q_E\)).
