Generalized Bäcklund-Darboux transformation: Spectral properties and nonlinear equations (Q5952268)

The author considers the first-order linear system \(dw/dx=G(x,\lambda) w,\) where the coefficient matrix \(G(x,\lambda)\) is a polynomial in the spectral parameter \(\lambda\) and in its reciprocal \(1/\lambda.\) The generalized Bäcklund-Darboux transformation [the author, J. Funct. Anal. 144, No. 2, 359-370 (1997; Zbl 0886.35145)] associated with such a system is reviewed, some detailed proofs of the author's previous results are presented, and some applications of such a transformation are given in order to derive some known integrable nonlinear PDEs.
