The authors characterize the Jacobson radical of an analytic crossed product \(C_0(X)\times_{\phi} \mathbb{Z}^d_{+}\). This consists of all elements whose 'Fourier coefficients' vanish on the recurrent points of the dynamical system (and the first one is zero). This answers a question first raised by \textit{W. B. Arveson} and \textit{K. B. Josephson} in [Math. Scand. 24, 232-238 (1969; Zbl 0186.45903)].
