Let \(E\overset\pi\mapsto X\) be a holomorphic vector bundle over a \(q\)-complete complex manifold \(X\). The authors show that a \((2p-1)\)-dimensional real submanifold \(M\) of \(E\), with \(p\geq q+1\), is the boundary, in the sense of currents, of a holomorphic \(p\)-chain of locally finite mass in \(E\setminus M\), if and only if \(M\) is maximally complex. They apply these results to various generalizations of the Hartogs-Bochner theorem for CR meromorphic maps taking theirvalues in \(q\)-convex manifolds.
