Let \(A\) and \(G\) be groups, \(H\trianglelefteq G\), and \(\Theta\colon G\to\Aut A\) a map. The authors call \((A,\Theta)\) an \((H,G)\)-projective group if \((A,\Theta_{|H})\) is a group acted on by \(H\), and \(\Theta(g)\Theta(h^{-1})\Theta(g)^{-1}\Theta(hgh^{-1})\in\text{Inn }A\) for all \(h\in H\), \(g\in G\). In this case \((A,\Theta)\) is called an \((H,G)\)-projective extension of the \(H\)-group \((A,\Theta_{|H})\). \((H,G)\) equivalence classes of \((H,G)\)-projective extensions, and the existence of \((H,G)\)-projective extensions of an \(H\)-group \((A,\Psi)\) are investigated. Several applications and examples involving crowns, wreath products, primitive groups, common complements and diagonal subgroups are also given.
