The author considers a simple game with \(n\) players. If \(\psi_{i}\) measures the Shapley-Shubik power index for player \(i\) then \(1-\psi_{i}\) measures his powerlessness. Powerlessness can be broken down into two components -- quixoticness (\(Q_{i}\)) and followerness (\(F_{i}\)), i.e., \(1-\psi_{i}\)=\(Q_{i}+F_{i}.\) The author discusses many properties of these indices and concludes the paper by providing a short interpretation of \(Q\) and \(F\) within a reliability theory context.
