The authors propose a method of solving an inverse problem on the determination of a function (velocity of the wave propagation) which appears in the wave equation as a coefficient. The sources of the wave field are point sources whose supports vary in a domain of three-dimensional space. The information for solving the inverse problem is the wave field in another fixed domain of this three-dimensional space at any time. The main results are the following: The solution of the inverse problem is reduced to a Fredholm integral equation of the first kind with a special kernel. A numerical method for solving the inverse problem is given and test results are described.
