Let \({\mathbb K}^n(b)\) be a real space form of constant curvature \(b\), and \(P^{n-1}\) be an immersed complete hypersurface in \({\mathbb K}^n(b)\). An extrinsic \(R\)-ball \(D_R(p)\) with center \(p\) in \(P\) is defined as the smooth connected component of \(B_R(p){\cap}P\) containing \(p\), where \(B_R(p)\) denotes the geodesic \(R\)-ball in \({\mathbb K}^n(b)\). The boundary \({\partial}D_R(p)\) is called an extrinsic sphere in \(P\). This paper studies the mean curvature normal vector field \(\overline{H}^{{\mathbb K}^n(b)}_{\partial D_R}\) of \(\partial D_R\) in \({\mathbb K}^n(b)\). By using the Weingarten formula and the curvature properties of real space forms, the author obtains a lower bound for the square of the norm of \(\overline{H}^{{\mathbb K}^n(b)}_{\partial D_R}\), expresses it in terms of the mean curvature of the geodesic \(R\)-ball \(S^{b, n-2}_R\) in \({\mathbb K}^{n-1}(b)\) and the normal mean curvature of \(P^{n-1}\) in \({\mathbb K}^n(b).\) Furthermore, the author gives a lower bound of the total mean curvature of the extrinsic sphere, the integral of the square of the norm of \(\overline{H}^{{\mathbb K}^N(b)}_{\partial D_R}\), by the volume of this extrinsic sphere \(\partial D_R\) and some constant depending on the curvature of the space forms.
