Let \(E_1,\ldots,E_k\) be Banach spaces, \({\mathcal L}^k(E_1,\ldots,E_k;X)\) the Banach space of all continuous \(k\)-linear mappings from \(E_1\times\cdots\times E_k\) into a Banach space \(X\), \(\widehat{T}:E_1\otimes\cdots\otimes E_k\to X\) the linearization of \(T\in{\mathcal L}^k(E_1,\ldots,E_k;X)\), and let \(E_1\hat{\otimes}_\varepsilon\cdots\hat{\otimes}_\varepsilon E_k\) stand for the (complete) injective tensor product of \(E_1,\ldots,E_k\). A multilinear operator \(T\in{\mathcal L}^k(E_1,\ldots,E_k;X)\) is called integral if its linearization \(\widehat{T}\) is continuous for the injective (\(\varepsilon\)) topology on \(E_1\otimes\cdots\otimes E_k\). Let \(K_i\) \((i=1,\ldots,k)\) be compact Hausdorff spaces and \(\Sigma_i\) \(\sigma\)-algebras of subsets of \(K_i\). A function \(\gamma:\Sigma_1\times\cdots\times\Sigma_k\to X\) is a (countably) additive \(k\)-polymeasure if it is separately (countably) additive. For a polymeasure \(\gamma:\Sigma_1\times\cdots\times\Sigma_k\to X\), its semivariation \(\| \gamma\| :\Sigma_1\times\cdots\times\Sigma_k\to[0,+\infty]\) is defined by \[ \| \gamma\| (A_1,\ldots,A_k)=\sup\left\{\left\| \sum_{j_1=1}^{n_1}\cdots \sum_{j_k=1}^{n_k}a_1^{j_1}\cdots a_k^{j_k}\gamma\big(A_1^{j_1}, \ldots,A_k^{j_k}\big)\right\| \right\}, \] where the supremum is taken over all the finite \(\Sigma_i\)-partitions \(\{A_i^{j_i}\}_{j_i=1}^{n_i}\) of \(A_i\in\Sigma_i\) \((1\leq i\leq k)\) and over all the collections \(\{a_i^{j_i}\}_{j_i=1}^{n_i}\) contained in the unit ball of the scalar field. Let \(\text{Bo}(K_i)\) denote the Borel \(\sigma\)-algebra of \(K_i\) and let \(X^{**}\) be the second dual of \(X\). Every multilinear operator \(T\in{\mathcal L}^k(C(K_1),\ldots,C(K_k);X)\) has a unique representing polymeasure \(\gamma:\text{Bo}(K_1)\times\cdots\times \text{Bo}(K_k)\to X^{**}\) with finite semivariation such that \[ T(f_1,\ldots,f_k)=\int (f_1,\ldots,f_k)\,d\gamma \quad\text{for}\quad f_i\in C(K_i), \] and such that for every \(x^*\in X^*\), \(x^*\circ\gamma\) is a regular, countably additive scalar polymeasure on \(\text{Bo}(K_1)\times\cdots\times\text{Bo}(K_k)\). The present paper deals with characterizations of multilinear vector-valued integral operators on a product of \(C(K)\) spaces in terms of the corresponding representing polymeasures. Such characterizations are given in terms of semivariation and quasivariation of the representing polymeasures and in terms of extensions of Borel polymeasures to measures on \(\text{Bo}(K_1\times\cdots\times K_k)\) and on \(\text{Bo}(K_1)\otimes\cdots\otimes\text{Bo}(K_k)\). The relationship between the weak compactness of an integral multilinear map on a product \(C(K_1)\times\cdots\times C(K_k)\) and that of its linear extension to \(C(K_1\times\cdots\times K_k)\) is studied.
