The main result of the paper asserts that if \(X\) is a continuum (that is, a connected metric compact space) that is topologically homogeneous and admits a fibre bundle projection onto a torus \({\mathbb T}^k\) with totally disconnected fibres, then \(X\) can be given a structure of a topological abelian group. In the second part of the article, the author introduces a higher-dimensional analogue of the exponent group for continuous maps from \({\mathbb R}^k\) into a metric space \(X\) as a certain subgroup of \({\text{ Hom}}({\mathbb R}^k,{\mathbb R}^k)\). This is used further to study almost periodic maps from the Euclidean space to a metric space. The concept is defined using exponent groups and is said to coincide with the classical definition, though the proof of this fact is left out.
