An iterative method is proposed for the computation of zeros of \(C^1\) functions. The superlinear convergence and the global convergence are proved. Numerical tests show that the proposed method works better at least on the selected set of problems that the Newton method. The cost per iteration is less or equal to the cost of the Newton method. Moreover, a class of methods is given with different orders generalizing the new method.
