Let \(D_j\) be \((m+1)\)-connected bounded domains with the boundaries \(\Gamma_j\), \(0\leq j\leq n\) on the plane and let \(\Gamma_j= \cup^m_{k=0 }\Gamma_{jk}\), \(0\leq j\leq n\), where \(\Gamma_{j0},\dots, \Gamma_{jm}\) are simple closed Lyapunov smooth curves, having no common points which we assume to be such that \(\Gamma_{j0}\) contains \(\Gamma_{j1},\dots, \Gamma_{jm}\) and they are oriented anti-clockwise. Let the function \(\alpha_j(t)\in C^q_\beta (\Gamma_0)\) maps \(\Gamma_0\) in a one-to-one way onto \(\Gamma_j\) preserving the orientation \(1\leq j\leq n\). We assume that \(\alpha_j(t)\) maps \(\Gamma_{0k}\) onto the contour \(\Gamma_{jk}\), \(k=1,\dots,m\) and \(\alpha_j'(t)\neq 0\), \(t_0\in \Gamma_0\). The Riemann-Hilbert problem with shift in this paper is to find functions \(\varphi_1,\dots, \varphi_n\) analytic in \(D_1,\dots,D_n\) and Hölder continuous in the closed domains \(\overline D_1,\dots,\overline D_n\) that satisfy the conditions: \[ \text{Re} \sum^n_{j=1}a_{kj} (t)\varphi_j \bigl( \alpha_j(t) \bigr)=f_k(t),\;t\in\Gamma_0, k=1,\dots,k, \] where \(a_{kj}(t)\), \(f_k(t)\) are functions from \(C_\beta(\Gamma_0)\). It is assumed that \(\det A(t)= \det(a_{kj} (t))\neq 0\) on \(\Gamma_0\). The author reduces this problem to a system of singular integral equations on a contour of normal type and calculates the corresponding index. A solvability condition is formulated in terms of a conjugate problem.
