The authors start with an \textit{axiomatic Potential Theory}, consisting of the following hypotheses: Assumption A . The state space \(X\) is a locally compact abelian topological group with countable base, which is further equipped with a Green function \(G:X\times X\to(0,\infty]\) such that {\parindent=0.7cm\begin{itemize}\item[(i)] For every \(y\in X\), \(G (\cdot,y)\) is a potential with carrier \(\{y\}\). \item[(ii)] For every potential \(p\) on \(X\), there is an unique measure \(\mu\) on \(X\) such that \[ p=G\mu:=\int G(\cdot,y)d\mu(y).\eqno{(1)} \] \end{itemize}} Assumption B. The Green function \(G\) has the local \textit{triangle property}, i.e., \(X\) is covered by open sets \(U\) for which there exists a constant \(C>0\) such that \[ G(x,z)\wedge G(y,z)\leq CG(x,y),\quad\forall x,y\in U.\eqno{(2)} \] Let \(\mathrm E^f\) be a convex cone of positive, l.s.c. functions on \(X\) with the following properties: \[ (\text H)\;\begin{cases} \mathrm E^f\text{ linearly separates points of }X,\text{ and for every } w\in\mathrm E^f\\ w=\sup\{v\in\mathrm E^f\cap C(X):v\leq w\}.\\ \text{There are strictly positive }u,\quad v\in\mathrm E^f\cap C(X)\text{ s.t. }uv\to 0\text{ at infinity}.\end{cases}\eqno{(3)} \] Remark. Suppose that \(1\in\mathrm E^f\), then it is known that there exists a Hunt process \(\mathcal H:=\{\mathcal X(\cdot,t)\}\) on \(X\) such that \(\mathrm E^f\) is identified with the cone of excessive functions relative to the transition semigroup of \(\mathcal H\) (see [\textit{C. Berg} and \textit{G. Forst}, Potential theory on locally compact Abelian groups. Berlin-Heidelberg-New York: Springer-Verlag (1975; Zbl 0308.31001)], Section 2 of Chapter II). The main result of the paper is Proposition 4, called the ``Continuity Principle of Evans-Vasilesco''.
