In this work, a one-dimensional dynamical problem is treated in a homogeneous and isotropic medium rotating about a perpendicular axis. The medium is made of a generalized thermoelastic material in which heat pulses propagate with finite speeds. The field equations are obtained by adding to the well-known field equations the terms corresponding to centripetal and Coriolis accelerations as body forces. The solution is sought for a concentrated constant heat source at the location \(x=0\) applied at the time \(t=0\). By using the Laplace transform, field equations are reduced to a system of ordinary differential equations with constant coefficients whose solution is easily obtainable. The effect of the rotation as dependent on time is displayed graphically for temperature, displacement and stress at an unspecified location. The solution is transferred to the time domain apparently by a numerical procedure.
