The authors developed accurate and stable grid interfaces for finite volume methods. A convection diffusion equation is discretizised using this method. A theoretical foundation of the method with regard of its stability is analysed and numerical experiments are performed. It is shown that unstable cases in the nonlinear systems is the same as for a scalar convection diffusion equation. It is remarked that upwind approximations are stable at the interface but central difference discretizations need extra artificial dissipation or diffusion in the equation to be stable.
