The authors study the finite section method for a Banach algebra of convolution type operators on Lebesgue space with symbols generated by PC (piecewise continuous) and SO (slowly oscillating). They first provide properties of piecewise continuous and slowly oscillating Fourier multipliers. Later, they formulate several auxiliary results on singular integral operators with piecewise constant coefficients. Finally \textit{A. V. Kozak}'s theorem [Sov. Math., Dokl. 14, 1580--1583 (1973); translation from Dokl. Akad. Nauk SSSR 212, 1287--1289 (1973; Zbl 0306.46058)] is formulated.
