\textit{G. E. Andrews} and the reviewer derived in [J. Comb. Theory, Ser. A 119, No. 8, 1639--1643 (2012; Zbl 1246.05014)] a truncated version of Euler's pentagonal numbers theorem and opened up a new study of truncated series. Recently, \textit{M. Merca} et al. [Ann. Comb. 23, No. 3--4, 907--915 (2019; Zbl 1448.11181)] considered overpartitions into odd parts and proved the following two identities: \[ \frac{(-q;q^2)_\infty}{(q;q^2)_\infty} \left( 1+2\sum_{j=1}^k (-1)^j q^{j^2} \right) =1+2\sum_{j=1}^\infty (-1)^j q^{2j^2} + 2(-1)^k q^{(k+1)^2} (-q;q^2)_{\infty} \sum_{j=0}^{\infty}\frac{q^{(2k+2j+3)j}}{(q^2;q^2)_j(q;q^2)_{k+j+1}}, \] and \[ \frac{(-q;q^2)_\infty}{(q;q^2)_\infty} \left( 1+2\sum_{j=1}^k (-1)^j q^{2j^2} \right) =1+2\sum_{j=1}^\infty q^{j^2} + 2(-1)^k q^{2(k+1)^2} (-q;q^2)^2_{\infty} \sum_{j=0}^{\infty}\frac{q^{2(2k+2j+3)j}}{(q^4;q^4)_j(q^2;q^4)_{k+j+1}}. \] In analogy with these truncated identities, the author of this paper investigates four restricted partition functions and deduce some identities by utilizing basic hypergeometric series.
