The structure of the unramified abelian Iwasawa module of some number fields (Q6045498)

Let \(\ell\) and \(\ell'\) be prime numbers with \(\ell\equiv -\ell'\equiv 1 \mod 4\), and let \(m=v_2(\ell-1)-2\) and \(m'=v_2(\ell'+1)-2\). Assume that \((\ell/\ell')=-1\) and \(m'\ge m\). Let \(F=\mathbb Q(\sqrt{\ell\ell'})\), and let \(A_n\) be the Sylow 2-subgroup of the class group for the \(n\)th level of the cyclotomic \(\mathbb Z_2\)-extension of \(F\). The main theorem of the paper is that \[ A_n\simeq (\mathbb Z/2\mathbb Z)^{2^n} \text{ for all } n\le m\] and \[ A_n\simeq (\mathbb Z/2\mathbb Z)^{2^m} \text{ for all } n\ge m. \]
