Criteria for countable box, \(\square_nX_n\), and nabla, \(\nabla_nX_n\), products of a sequence \(\langle X_n\rangle\) of topological spaces to be \(D\)-spaces are considered. When \(X_n\) is compact for each \(n\in\omega\), then \(\square_nX_n\) is \(D\) iff \(\nabla_nX_n\) is \(D\). Taking \(X_n=\{0,1\}^{\mathfrak c^+}\), which is compact of weight \(\mathfrak c^+\), it is seen that the products are not \(D\). On the other hand if each \(X_n\) is scattered with uniformly bounded finite scattered height, or if each \(X_n=X\) which is scattered and hereditarily paracompact, then the products are hereditarily \(D\). If each \(X_n=X\) is metrisable then \(\nabla_nX_n\) is hereditarily \(D\) as is \(\square_nX_n\) if further \(X\) has weight \(\le\mathfrak d\). Consistently the products are \(D\) if each \(X_n=X\) which is compact and either first countable or with weight \(\le\omega_1\).
