    In the first part of this paper the authors describe generalized derivations \(F_1, F_2\) of a prime ring \(R\) satisfying some algebraic identities on a non-central Lie ideal \(L\). More precisely, under the assumption that \(char(R)\neq 2\), they prove the following results: \begin{itemize} \item[Theorem 1.] If \(F_1(x)\circ y + x \circ F_2(y) = 0\), for all \(x, y \in L\), then either there exists \(\lambda \in C\), the extended centroid of \(R\), such that \(F_1(x) = \lambda x\) and \(F_2(x) = -\lambda x\), for any \(x\in R\), or \(R\) is embedded in a \(2\times 2\) matrix ring over a field. \item[Theorem 2.] If \([F_1(x), y] + F_2([x,y]) = 0\), for all \(x, y \in L\), then either there exists \(\lambda \in C\) such that \(F_1(x) = \lambda x\) and \(F_2(x) = -\lambda x\), for any \(x\in R\), or \(R\) is embedded in a \(2\times 2\) matrix ring over a field. \end{itemize} Furthermore, as an application, the authors study continuous generalized derivations \(F_1, F_2\) of a noncommutative prime Banach algebra \(A\), satisfying similar algebraic identities with power values on nonvoid open subsets. In this regard, they prove the following: \begin{itemize} \item[Theorem 3.] Let \(O_1, O_2\) be nonempty open subsets on \(A\) and \(n\geq 1\) a fixed integer, such that either \((F_1(x)\circ y)^n + x \circ F_2(y) = 0\), for all \((x,y)\in O_1\times O_2\), or \([F_1(x), y]^n + F_2([x,y]) = 0\), for all \((x,y)\in O_1\times O_2\). Then \(F_1=F_2=0\). \item[Theorem 4.] Let \(O_1, O_2\) be nonvoid open subsets on \(A\). If, for any \((x,y)\in O_1\times O_2\) there are non-zero integers \(r,s\) such that \(F_1(x^r)\circ y^s + x^r \circ F_2(y^s) = 0\) then either there exists \(\lambda \in C_A\), the extended centroid of \(A\), such that \(F_1(x) = \lambda x\) and \(F_2(x) = -\lambda x\), for any \(x\in A\), or \(A\) is embedded in a \(2\times 2\) matrix ring over a field. \item[Theorem 5.] Let \(O_1, O_2\) be nonvoid open subsets on \(A\). If, for any \((x,y)\in O_1\times O_2\) there are non-zero integers \(r,s\) such that \([F_1(x^r), y^s] + F_2([x^r,y^s]) = 0\) then either there exists \(\lambda \in C_A\) such that \(F_1(x) = \lambda x\) and \(F_2(x) = -\lambda x\), for any \(x\in A\), or \(A\) is embedded in a \(2\times 2\) matrix ring over a field. \end{itemize}
