A partial compactification of the Bridgeland stability manifold (Q6060893)

This paper constructs a metric partial compactification of the Bridgeland stability manifold \(\mathrm{Stab}(D)\) for a triangulated category \(D\) whose degenerate stability conditions correspond to proper stability conditions on quotient triangulated categories of \(D\). The metric on \(\mathrm{Stab}(D)\) considered here is the pull-back of a translation-invariant Riemannian metric on the space of central charges, whose construction and properties are given in \S 3 and \S 4. The limit stability conditions with respect to this metric are studied in \S 5, and in \S 6 is established the main Theorem 1.1: Assuming some topological conditions on \(\mathrm{Stab}(D)\), one has an embedding \(j\) of the metric completion \(\widehat{\mathrm{Stab}(D)}\) into the space of generalized stability conditions \((K,\sigma)\), where \(K \subset D\) is a thick subcategory and \(\sigma\) is a stability condition on the quotient \(D/K\).
